One of the benefits of interim innkeeping is discovering new recipes at various Bed and Breakfast Inns. Here, with the owners permission, we are happy to share recipes that have proven to be popular with guests. Though most have come from B&B's, some are taken from the internet as well (Food Network, etc.).

We plan to feature at least one recipe each month, so please check back often. And if you try one of them, please let us know how it worked out.


 

STRAWBERRY BREAD

 

2 10OZ PACKAGES OF FROZEN STRAWBERRIES, THAWED

4 EGGS

1 1/4 CUPS VEGETABLE OIL

3 CUPS FLOUR

2 CUPS SUGAR

1 TABLESPOON CINNAMON

1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA

1 TEASPOON SALT

1 CUP CHOPPED NUTS

 

Process the strawberries in a food processor until pureed.  Combine the strawberry puree, eggs and oil in a medium bowl and mix well.  Mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and nuts in a large bowl.  Add the strawberry mixture and stir just until blended.  Pour into 2 greased and floured 5x9 inch loaf pans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until the loaves test done.
